Set-Up Utility Technician
1st Shift 6 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. M-F

Are you someone that is mechanically inclined, detailed, customer oriented, and takes pride in their work? Do you enjoy a job where no two days are the same, you are able to work independently and be part of a team, and work on a variety of projects throughout the day? If the answer is YES, this may be the perfect job for you!

Responsibility: Assist in the set-up of Company equipment and tooling in support of the production floor including:
• Perform preventative maintenance tasks on equipment.
• Make equipment changeovers, adjustments, and operation.
• Verify work instruction and set-up changes requested by leads/operators.
• Evaluate new tooling and part numbers to setup machine parameters.
• Create programs for marking equipment and verifies location and size per print.
• Maintain production tooling and creates work orders for repair or replacement.
• Assist in departments’ organization projects (furniture setups, labeling, etc.)
• Engrave gages, prototypes, tooling, and other materials as needed for Engineering, Maintenance, Quality, & Tool Room.

Requirements:
• High School graduate or equivalent (vocational training preferred). Minimum one (1) year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Able to communicate effectively in English both written and verbally and maintains effective working relationships.
• Comprehend and troubleshoot mechanical equipment.
• Able to read and interpret blue prints, assembly drawings, component drawings, Bill of Materials, etc.
• Given Company provided training, able to operate fork truck.
• Able to use and input information into a computer (e.g. Outlook email, AS400).
• Able to work overtime during the week and Saturdays.

Preferred Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
• Two or more years’ experience in a related field (e.g. automotive or industrial).

Design Engineer

(Monday – Friday; 6:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.)

Ability to work overtime and a flexible schedule depending on project demands.

McGard is looking for a Design Engineer to help make the world more secure.

RESPONSIBILITY:

All aspects of product development including concept development, patent development, material selection, prototyping, product development, product testing, customer presentation, defining manufacturing process, ensuring successful initial production run, and staying within project budget. Will meet the time constraints provided at the start of the project and shall ensure the new product is launched successfully.

Travel may be required to support projects, to manage customer needs, or assist sales.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE & SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

• BSME or BSMET or equivalent. Two years or more experience as a Design Engineer a plus.
• Familiarity with manufacturing processes, material & strength analysis, 2D drawing development & 3D modeling.
• Proficient in MS office. Creo 3D modeling experience a plus.
• Strong verbal & written communication skills.
• Ability to effectively manage projects including being driven by known project constraints, due dates, and cost goals; will work on multiple projects simultaneously.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Possess a clean & valid driver’s license.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• May lift, push, pull &/or carry over 50 lbs.
• Capable of traveling and working throughout the entire facility, within reasonable accommodation. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Heat Treat Operator
3rd Shift, 11:00PM – 7:00AM; Monday - Friday
Ability to work overtime during the week and Saturdays

Responsibility:
• Controls heat treating furnaces to alter the properties of selected materials.
Job Responsibility
• Place parts on racks, in trays, or baskets and places them on conveyor or loads them in furnace.
• Adjust furnace controls to heat parts to prescribed time and temperature.
• Operate furnaces, draw ovens, pit draws, and any other related equipment.
• Checks control panel and parts in furnace frequently to be aware of furnace operation.

Requirements:
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Experience using computers.
• Proven track record of exemplary attendance.
• Positive attitude.
• Ability to stand for at least 75% of shift.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and orally.

Preferred Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
• Experience/Knowledge of heat treating.
• Leadership skills
• Ability to work autonomously or in teams.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Experience operating forklift.
• Confined space, safety, OSHA training.
• Understand and execute shop math.

Machine Operator
Induction Heat Treat
2nd Shift (Training will occur on 1st shift)

• Math aptitude (i.e. adding, subtracting, decimals).
• Mechanical ability (i.e. working with hands and to work in mechanically oriented situations.)
• Able to use industrial measurement tools (i.e. micrometers).
• Understand and execute routine written and verbal instructions with minimal supervision.
• Able to communicate effectively in English both written and verbally and maintains effective working relationships.
• Ability to read and interpret blue prints.
• Given Company provided training, able to operate fork truck.
• Ability to work overtime during the week and Saturdays.

Preferred Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
• Previous experience operating induction heat treat equipment (e.g. Tocco).
• Fork truck experience a plus.
• Ability to use and input information into a computer (e.g. Outlook email, AS400).

Quality Assurance Associate Specialist (PPAP)
6:30AM – 3:00PM (Monday – Friday)
Ability to work overtime during the week and Saturdays

OBJECTIVE
• Prepares Production Part Approval packages (PPAP) and assists the Quality Planning Process, along with various departments, suppliers, and all other automobile manufacturers. Troubleshooting and problem solving.

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Prepares sample submissions (PPAP/ISIR/NKS).
• Develops and approves process control plans and process flow charts.
• Interprets drawings, diagrams, or formulas to arrive at specified quality and reliability standards.
• Selects products for testing, and tests products for variety of qualities.
• Develops and initiates methods and procedures for inspecting, testing, and evaluation.
• Records test data, applying statistical quality control procedures.
• Evaluates data and writes reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards.
• Suggests standards to receive optimum quality within limits of equipment capability.
• Sets up and performs destructive and nondestructive tests on materials, parts, or products.
• Prepares quarterly/annual Telekom reports

REQUIREMENTS
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and orally.
• Technical Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• Three (3) years related Quality Assurance experience.

CNC Mill Machine Operator

3rd Shift (10:30PM – 7:00AM; Monday – Friday)
Ability to work overtime during the week and Saturdays

Responsibility:
Set up and operate CNC milling machines to mill surfaces on metal.

Requirements:
• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Strong math and mechanical aptitude.
• Understand and execute routine written and verbal instructions with minimal supervision.
• Able to communicate effectively in English both written and verbally.
• Proven record of exemplary attendance.
• Ability to read and interpret work instructions.

Preferred Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
• Ability to read and interpret “G” code a plus.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Past CNC milling experience.
• Experience operating a forklift.

Quality Assurance Technician
6:30AM – 3:00PM (Monday – Friday)
Ability to work overtime during the week and Saturdays

RESPONSIBILITY
• Tests and inspects products at various stages of production process and compiles and evaluates statistical data to determine and maintain quality and reliability of products.

REQUIREMENTS
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and orally.
• Three (3) years related Quality Assurance experience.
• Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
• Associate’s Degree in technical field.
• ASQ certification.
• Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plain and solid geometry & trigonometry.
• Knowledge of statistical analysis, precision measurement, and industrial practices.
• Specialize in any of the following areas of Quality Control: Process & Inventory Control, Incoming Material, Design, Product Evaluation, and Product Reliability.

Process Engineer (Experienced)
6:30AM – 3:30PM; Monday - Friday
Ability to work overtime during the week and Saturdays

Responsibility:
Play an integral role in the launch of the LEAN program at McGard LLC, a Tier 1 supplier to the automotive industry.
Oversee, develop and lead overall programs and structures for Continuous Improvement (CI) and LEAN efforts while mentoring and working with Process Engineers and active team members in LEAN and CI. There will be a reporting structure where the Process Engineers involved with LEAN/CI projects will work with this position.

Help establish new production processes and develop standardized documentation including work instructions, visual aids, and operating procedures. Contribute to the development of process improvements to lower costs, improve throughput, and increase efficiency while maintaining or exceeding quality and safety. This includes analyzing in-process parameters such as scrap, capability, cycle time, etc. Tasks will vary from conducting tests on the manufacturing floor at an operator level, to presenting studies at a management level.

Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering: Industrial (BSIE), Mechanical (BSME), or equivalent.
• LEAN and or formal Continuous improvement experience required, 3+ years.
• Value Stream Mapping, APQP, PPAP, Gage R+R, Capability Analysis, PFMEA experience preferred.
• Proficient in MS Office; familiar with Minitab.
• Ability to work, lead, and mentor in a cross-function team setting, and work on multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills.
• Able to effectively manage projects. Be driven by known project constraints, due dates, and cost goals.
• Six Sigma Green/Black Belt experience a plus (Certification not required) [or Experience with Six Sigma tools].

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering: Industrial (BSIE), Mechanical (BSME).

• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Ability to work in cross functional team setting, and work on multiple projects simultaneously.
• Ability to effectively manage projects; project goals, known constraints, cost goals and due dates.

Preferred Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
• LEAN, Value Stream Mapping, APQP, Gage R&R, PFMEA, experience.
• Strong presentation skills.
• Ability to conduct Design of Experiments (DOE).
• Possess statistical skills.
• Three (3) plus years’ experience in similar role.
• Experience with Minitab.
